All the materials for the day will be laid out for you. Normally we use a limited
palette of six artists colours:-

The first stage will be to draw the picture onto the Bockingford 300 gms rough watercolour paper, using a prepared line drawing. I will explain about composition and simple perspective techniques.
The second stage is to show you how to mix colour washes and apply them using wet in wet and wet on dry methods.
Gradually the picture builds up using stronger mixes, to illustrate the importance of tonal contrast. A demonstration of different brush stokes will describe how various textures are represented.
At the end of the session your finished picture is displayed in a mount to show how effective it looks.
